As I look out the second story office window I can see a myriad of house colors: blues, yellows, green, a few beige... but no grey. Why? Well, who'd want to live in a grey house when it's grey 60-75 % of the time here. Yes... it's pretty grey here in the winter. Grey and wet. To put it mildly.
So I'm leaving. At least for a short time.... Hawaii here I come!
You know, I love Hawaii. It's a pretty short flight (I keep telling myself with a four-year-old in tow),, the temperature is a pleasant 80F all the time, PLumeria grow there and I can wear them in my hair everyday, it's domestic, ergo 1st world ammenities (like potable drinking water), and they have Costco. I know that the last one is lame, but it's nice to go to Costco when you get to the island because the prices there are ridic.
So the first stop was Costco to stock up on pineapples, poi, beer, water, vodka, and other holiday-making staples. And an ice cream for a great traveller!
It took a few days, but we were all sleeping in to the regularly scheduled time of seven and then we were off!
Lots of surf and sand.
Lots of tidepools.
Lots of fun.

And lots and lots of blue sky!
Damn those days went way too fast!
Mahalo, Hawaii!
