After all of my success shopping in Hanoi, I told Colin I really didn't need to do anymore here in Hoi An. Yeah... that lasted less than 24 hours.
After my morning in the spa I was steamed, scrubbed and smoothed out and ready for the day. We borrowed a couple of bikes from the resort and toodled into town. We had lunch of traditional Vietnamese food: shrimp dumplings; spring rolls; khao liao/pork with wheat noodles; wontons and a soup. Sounds like a lot, but they were only bites, honest! Then, on the recommendation of the server, headed to look at the handcrafted shoes. This was the downfall to my plan. Handmade boots to fit my square feet? In black? And brown?!?!
Sigh... I am so weak.
Since I had already slid down the slippery slope why not make a day of it...
If you were to look in my closet you'd see a repeating theme. I like v-neck sweaters, so I have at least a dozen. Pencil skirts? In black, brown and grey thank you. Five pairs of the same jeans in varying shades... And so on.
So here in Hoi An where there are tailors in every second storefront how could I not have a lovely dress made? In three different colors. Why? I don't know, it's not like I have many, if any opportunities to wear a fanciful dress... Because I can have them made. Just. For. Me.
Finally Colin said he should take me back to the resort where the only damage I could do was at the bar.
Cheers!
you are the most amazing women I have every met....Hands down:)
