We were given an evening at one of the premiere golf courses in the area, Predator Ridge, to have dinner prepared by Sam, the Cooking Guy. The setting, gorgeous! The food, uninspired. But, I will admit, I am not the target audience; I cook, I bake, I make up recipes, I am obviously comfortable in front of the fire, electric, gas, propane, etc... He is good for those intimidated by, well, me.
Anyways... it was still a lot of fun, likely because the drinks were flowing (and the young bartenders were flirty).
I was enamored with the Cucumber Mule...
Cucumber Mule
cucumber slices
2 oz vodka
2 oz lime juice
generous splash of ginger ale
The cucumber was muddled with the lime and then shaken with the vodka. Add to a highball glass and top off with ginger ale.
This is a very quaffable and refreshing drink. A perfect companion to the summer grill.
